Being the Best SC

Now you understand all the ways citizens can earn on empowr and even your responsibilities as a Success Coach, but where is the best place to start with new clients and help them earn right away? 

This module will give you tips we’ve gathered from some of the very best Success Coaches. First, it’s important to highlight empowr’s key to success: providing Radically Awesome Customer Service (RACE).

RACE means:

  • We want to give personalized and genuine support
  • We view any problems as opportunities to make a good impression
  • We value taking care of clients and making sure they are happy

Throughout your communication with clients you should continually strive to meet the high standard of RACE.

What does providing RACE to clients look like?

Excellent Success Coaches know how to engage clients and communicate clearly how to earn. In their responses to clients they:

  • Keep their answers short and simple
  • Individualize their responses

Following up with clients:

In reviewing your communication with clients, always ask yourself:

1. Is my response personalized?

2. Do I understand their question?

3. Is my answer direct and at the beginning of the message?

4. Did I include any relevant videos?

How do you insert a video? empowr created a tool for Success Coaches to easily insert videos from the Learning Center into your messages. Simply click “Insert Video” at the bottom of your message and select the appropriate video.



Client Happiness Feedback Surveys

Every month citizens have the opportunity to rate how they feel about empowr on a scale of 0 to 10. A rating of 6 or less indicates your client is unhappy, while a rating of 7 or 8 suggests they are neutral, and 9 and 10 indicate they are very happy. They can also provide comments on what they feel is perfect now or what isn’t perfect just yet.

When your client fills out their survey, you’ll see their response and should follow up.

To respond to your clients, simply click reply to the message you’ve received.

Then comment on the client’s rating and address any comments they have provided. 

When your client says they love the site, reply that you are glad they are enjoying the site. If they’ve left a specific comment, mention it in your reply (“I’m glad you enjoy connecting with other people on the site. That’s something I love about empowr too”).

If you client is not happy with the site, first address their feelings of frustration (“I’m sorry to hear that you are not currently happy with the site”). If they’ve left comments on what it is they are frustrated with, try to help them with that issue (“I see you are frustrated with the cashing out process. Are there any questions I can answer for you on cashing out….). If they left no comment, ask them for further information to best help them (“Can you tell me more about what you don’t like about the site? I’m here to help”).

Review your answer, and then hit “Send.”



Best Way to Begin Earning

In order to help your clients earn, you’ll want to help them Optimize their Account, Maximize their Network, and Monetize their Network. Part of individualizing your responses to your clients is seeing which of these areas they are struggling in, and giving them specific ideas on how to go green. 

Always explain why the client should take action, and how they can take action.

    1. Optimize their earnings

        Ask the client if their account is optimized, and then tell them the WHY and the HOW of optimizing their account. 

        Why should they optimize their account? Optimizing their account instantly doubles their earning potential                    on empowr. The platform will also automatically move them up to the next Power Level when their profits allow –           to even further maximize their earnings. 

        How to they optimize their account? Simple – they just need to click “Optimize now” 





    2. Maximize their Network

        This step is all about expanding their network of fans and friends, and being active with the people they                        are connected to. 

        Why should client do this? This expands the audience of people that can like, share or comment on their posts            and blogs, and that can potentially bid on and purchase items they are selling or sponsoring. Being active                        with other citizens motivates them to reciprocate. 

        How can they do this? Bidding on and sponsoring items, and sharing content they upload – especially from those            that are their BFOs. They can also hover over the profile picture of any friend or fan and see if they are “in                        the green” with that person and what they specifically can do to build up their activity with them. 

       Tell your clients that they can scroll through their newsfeed, and just by looking at each person’s profile                       photo, they can see where they stand with them:

        If there isn’t a green crescent above the profile photo, they can place their cursor on the profile photo to see                what they need to do to “go green” with that person:




    Suggest they become fans of those on the leader board. To do that, they click “Leader Board” from the left navigation     bar, and then click “Become a Fan”






3. Monetize their Network

    Monetizing their network means clients are posting and selling QUALITY content, services and products. 

    Why should they Monetize their Network? It increases the chance that their friends and fans will want to view their        blogs, like their content, and purchase their services and goods. 

    How do they Monetize their Network? First, they can click on their Monetize Gauge to learn more about where                they need to go green and how they compare to others. This will help them understand more specifically where they     need to focus their time and attention on improvement. 





    When they click more, they can see their gauges on how they are doing in posting and selling. They can click on            “More” again for each of these gauges for ideas on what to do to go green.





    These gauges were developed in order to give all citizens an easy visual of how they are doing compared to other            citizens. Help clients understand how going green benefits them.



SC Mistakes – What You Shouldn’t Do

Not personalizing messages

Trust is built by engaging clients, making them feel you are here to help them, and by giving them good information. Clients are much more likely to respond to personalized messages and when they feel their SC is genuinely interested in getting to know and help them. 

Are you asking your clients questions that help you get to know them? Do you know what they want to do or like doing on the site? What are their goals? 


Providing too much information

There are lots of ways to earn on empowr. However, you want to start slow and simply with new clients. Address one concept in each message, unless the client has asked several questions.

First get to know them, find out what questions they have, and answer those questions concisely. You are developing a relationship with these clients – there will be time as this relationship develops to further educate them on all the features of empowr’s site. 


Making the client “dig” for the answer

This is another downfall of providing too much information – the client might simply have trouble figuring out where you are answering their question in the message, and have to work to find it. Make the answer direct and simple, and provide the answer at the beginning of the message.


Not providing enough information

Answer their question fully and answer all the questions they have. Create bullet points for each question or issue to make sure you address every single one. Additionally, provide the clients with available links to videos and the Learning Center if applicable. 

Are they asking the same question in multiple threads? Respond to every thread, even if you have already answered that question in another message. Link to the message where you answered the question; don’t ignore the other messages. And don’t communicate that you are annoyed in any way to answer the same question again. 

Remember that providing full information does not mean that you have to write a long wordy message – keep it simple, short, and to the point. 


Not providing relevant information

Be concise, clear and direct with answers. Slow down if necessary to understand their question clearly, and if you are unsure ask for more information. It’s not the time to talk about unrelated issues or features of the site that don’t relate to what the client needs help with now. 


Not acknowledging feelings

When a client is upset, make sure to acknowledge those feelings. Otherwise, even if it is not your intention, they might feel like you don’t care and become more upset. We want to support our clients and help them to have a good experience using the site. Simply start by saying “I’m sorry to hear that you are upset…” before providing any explanations or solutions. 


Saying “I don’t know”

If you do not know the answer to a question, utilize the Learning Center, the Success Coach Blog and your Success Coach to get the answer. Be resourceful and get help; don’t reply to your client “I don’t know.” This will make them less confident in your knowledge and abilities. In the future they may not trust your advice.


Not Following Up Quickly

Success Coaches are expected to follow up with clients within 24 hours; ideally we are following up within 9 hours or less. 

Having difficultly managing all the client messages? Ask your Success Coach for tips on managing inbox messages. 

Following up quickly must be balanced with providing quality answers. Do not rush to the point that your messages are incomplete, impersonal or ineffective. Work at a speed that allows you to answer their questions completely, concisely, and correctly.


Not following up with a client after receiving an NI or advice in the audits

Anytime your receive advice in the communication area from your audits, you need to follow-up with your client to make sure they get the best experience possible. As a Success Coach you are always working to build trust with your client. 



Threats, Upset Clients & Billing Issues

Notify your head SC and the President if you receive a threat so it can be taken care of as quickly as possible.

As a Success Coach, you may encounter clients that have billing questions and are requesting a refund. empowr will follow up with any refund requests. When receiving these requests, reach out to the client to encourage them and see if you can help them understand the site – doing so many alleviate their frustration. Every time you have a frustrated client, there is an opportunity for us to educate that citizen and actually create a stronger relationship. 

Ultimately if they want a refund, or feel there is an issue with their balance, please create a Support Ticket. Gather as much information as you can on behalf of the client.

            Getting back with clients in a timely manner is important in maintaining a strong relationship with clients.  

            Do you have the time to answer client questions? 

    3. Am I open to continual self-improvement?

            Success Coaches are learners. They stay informed on what is changing with the site, they read the Success                    Coach blog regularly to get new tips, and they run with the feedback they get from their coaches to get better                and better at what they do.

            If you want to be a Success Coach you should be someone who is open to learning. When questions come                        up, you should go to existing resources such as the Learning Center or the Success Coach blog.

Getting Started: 

Earning is as simple as 1, 2, 3 

At the very top of the newsfeed all citizens will see their earning gauges and the 1, 2, 3 steps to earning. To start earning on the site, citizens should focus on these gauges and Optimize their account. By clicking “Learn How” citizens can view videos that will walk them through the 1, 2, 3 steps. 

As a Success Coach, the most important thing you can teach your clients is how to “go green” in all 3 steps. 





Step 1: Optimizing Your Account 

  •     You can instantly double your earning potential on empowr by optimizing your account. 

Optimize your Account



  • Optimizing your account activates your Earnings Accelerator which enables you to increase your Power Level as soon as you have earned enough profit from your current level. Additionally, your ad credit utilization will be set to 100% so that you are maximizing your earnings in your managed ad campaign. 

Step 2: Maximizing Your Network 

  • Build a large network of fans and friends, and motivate that network by:

    • bidding and buying products and services 
    • promoting marketplace listings (by liking, commenting or re-posting the listing) 
    • sharing content that your friends and fans publish, if you think it is high quality content that your own fans and friends will enjoy.

Step 3: Monetize Your Network 

  • Monetize your account by:

    • posting quality content throughout the day (it is better to post at different times of the day rather than all at once) 
    • selling quality products, services and blog packages 
    • Sponsoring products (when you are Sponsoring (re-selling) products, there is no obligation for you to keep the item if you are not able to re-sell it. You can use the "Unpaid Item" feature to essentially cancel the sale) 
    • you can potentially get more sales by creating auctions with a starting price of $0.01

If any of your gauges are in the red, it indicates that other citizens in your Power Level are performing better than you, and you should follow the instructions on that specific gauge to get in the green. 

Network Gauges 

Network Gauges help you see how well you are supporting your network and what you can do to enhance your relationships. The Red, Yellow and Green crescent above your Friend and Fan’s profiles indicates where you stand with that citizen. 

  • Red means that person has done more for you 
  • Yellow means that you’ve both done the same amount for each other 
  • Green means you’ve helped them more 





In order to maximize your earnings, you’ll want to “go green” with as many people as possible. When you rollover a citizen’s profile picture, empowr will tell you what you need to do in order to “go green” with that person: sharing their posts, bidding on their auctions, or Sponsoring or buying their services and products. 






Turning Your Earnings Off 

If you do not want to earn on empowr, or you want to stop earning for a while, turn your earnings off. To turn your earnings off, click on “Settings” on the top right corner. 





Then click on “Edit account info” 





From there, you’ll be able to turn your “Earning Preferences” to off. 





When you turn your earnings off, a window will open to confirm your choice and to inform you of the effects of doing so: 





An additional window will then open to confirm if you would like to stop paying your Power User subscription fee or your Ad Platform fee. Once you make your selections, your earnings will be off. 

Bear in mind that by turning your earnings off, you will not be able to use your earnings or cash out. You will also continue to accrue monthly ad platform fees if you have an outstanding balance. When you turn earnings back on by activating your Ad Credits you will need to wait a minimum of 90 days to be able to cash out. 



Profile and Settings 

Completing your empowr profile 

Complete your empowr profile by going to your Ad Credit Settings. Click on “Advertise” from the left navigation bar, and then click “Ad Credits.” Then click on “Settings” on the top right corner of the page. 





By completing your empowr profile, you protect your account and enable automatic payment of your monthly ad platform fees. 

Changing your profile photo 

To change your profile photo, first go to your profile page. Click on your profile on the top navigation bar. 





Then click on your profile photo to view your editing options. 





To change your profile cover, click on "Change Cover" at the top right corner of your profile page. 





Choosing a Cause 

Every empowr citizen has the ability to choose a cause that they would like to support. One percent of the profits that each citizen earns in a month is then donated to select charities within that cause. This donation comes from empowr, not the citizen’s balance. 


Choose your Cause the top left of your profile page. 

Interests 

Interests determine what ads you will be shown on empowr. 

To add and change the values for your interests click on your profile on the top right-hand side. 





From there, click “Edit Information” from the top right hand side. 





Click on the “Interests” tab, and then scroll down to the box that says “Add your interests one at a time” and input any interests. From here you can also choose to adjust your interest level for your current interests, or delete or hide them by clicking the boxes on the right-hand side next to that interest. 







Account Settings 

Change your account settings by selecting your Account tab at the top right of the page, then account settings. 

Manage your account protection under "Account Settings" to change or remove a linked payment source. Additionally, you can choose a vanity URL for your profile and control your privacy settings. 

Lastly, you can delete your empowr account from your "Account Settings".

The Learning Center contains helpful "How To" videos on the ways to earn on empowr and Frequently Asked Questions. 

Find and Click on “Learning Center” from the left navigation bar. 





Presidential Posts 

Important new announcements and community news items can be found in the Presidential Posts, located in the "What's New?" area of your Home page in the left navigation bar. 






Earning on empowr 

Earnings and your empowr balance 

All earnings enter a maturation period, during which they are carefully reviewed by empowr's algorithms and staff. Maturation and analysis begin immediately, as soon as your earnings are applied each day. 

MATURATION: 

  • you can immediately utilize all profits to widen your distribution and increase your earnings, by purchasing Power User subscriptions 
  • you can immediately utilize some of your profits to purchase products and services; with that percentage growing monthly based on your Community Score 
  • 60 days after any month, you can utilize profits from that month to purchase empowr ads 
  • 90 days after any month, you can cash out profits from that month via PayPal or bank check, or use them to pay ad platform fees for any ad credits utilized. 

When utilizing your empowr balance, the system first spends any available ad credits followed by any available profits. 

You will receive a Daily Revenue statement detailing your earning progress, and can also view your earnings history to see the daily earning breakdown and when profits mature. Select “My Balance” from the top of any page on the site to view this information. 

  • The green bars show the earnings you have achieved 
  • The blue bars show the earnings you have used 
  • Click on any of the icons below the chart (Cash Out, Shopping) to see what you are able to do with current earnings. 











Get More Power 

Power Users are citizens that excel at earning. As you earn on empowr, you become eligible for higher Power Levels and can earn even more. How? 

The higher Power Level you are, the wider audience you reach with each photo, blog, video, ad, service and sale. Since you are reaching more people, there is a higher likelihood that they will like and share your posts, and bid and buy your products and services. 

Power Users can also: 

  • Create and admin Communities 
  • Pay up to 100% of their Ad Platform fees with any profits 
  • Have a higher limit of posts they can earn from 
  • Access the newest empowr product features before they are released 

By turning on your Earnings Accelerator, the system will automatically move you up to the next highest Power Level as your profits allow – enabling you to maximize your earnings potential. 

You can also manually increase your Power Level by going to “Get More Power” on the left navigation bar. 





Additional Power levels will become available based on the demand from the community. 



Messages, Friends & Fans 

Messages 

There are 3 types of communication you will receive on empowr: friend requests, inbox messages, and notifications. You will see these together near the top right of every page. 





You can mark any important messages with a yellow star so that you can easily find it later 

As a Success Coach, if you receive a messages with a red star, it indicates that your clients did not find your response helpful. These messages need your immediate attention; follow up with the client and ask clarifying questions to see how you can better assist them. 





Fans and Friends 

Your news feed will show any activity from your friends and people you are a fan of. To not view this activity, simply uncheck the appropriate checkbox. To view activity of a particular group of friends, simply select that group from the dropdown menu. 





To only share your status updates with certain groups, just select the appropriate group from the right-hand corner of the status update box. 





Adding Friends & Fans

To build a large network on empowr, you should become a fan of as many people as possible. 


Friends on the other hand should be reserved for people that you have met in person. 

To send someone a Friend request go to their profile page and select "Add As Friend” from the upper right hand side of their profile. 





When adding a friend, confirm that you know this person, and choose which category they fit in. 

To become a fan of other citizens, either go to their profile page and select “Add as Fan.” 

If you need to delete any fans or friends, go to “Fans” or “Friends” on the left navigation bar, find the citizen, and select to un-Fan or un-Friend them. 


 


The Leader Board 

The Leader Board will show the top 100 earners in your country and world-wide, as well as how you stand in each group. This is an excellent place to go and add more fans. 

Click on “View Leader Board” from the left navigation bar. 





Then click “Become a Fan” under the citizen’s name. 






Troubleshooting Assistance & Common Questions 

Removing Yourself from Photos You've Been Tagged In 

Click on the “Profile” link from any page. At the top of your profile page, you will see all the photos you are tagged on. 





Locate the photo you wish to remove yourself from and select it. You will see all the names of people who are tagged in that photo. Find your name and click “Remove Tag.” 

Report a Photo or Block a Citizen 

To block a citizen go to their Profile page and block them from the left hand side. To report a photo or blog, click to report them at the top or bottom of the blog post or on the right hand side of the photo. 

Retrieve your Password 

Retrieve your password from the sign in page. 

Mobile Applications 

empowr is available as a mobile app for iPhone and Android platforms.

Ways to Earn – Advertising – Ad Campaigns

On empowr, you have the ability to purchase other people's ads through "Ad Campaigns." 
What’s an Ad Campaign? 

With Ad Campaigns, you are simply purchasing Ad clicks not funded by the person that created the ad. Ad Campaigns efficiently bring together content producers with advertisers to make it easier for everyone on empowr to earn and succeed. 

How Ad Campaigns Work 

Ad Campaigns ensure that great blogs and ads will be viewed by allowing others to continue to purchase these ads after their daily budget has been utilized. Citizens can create as many Ad Campaigns as they’d like; there are literally billions of combinations of Ad Campaigns to create. 

The Three Types of Ad Campaigns 

  • “Simple” Ad Campaigns mean you are determining the maximum amount you would like to use to support other’s Ads and the minimum return you would like. empowr will then find ads to purchase for you.
  • “Advanced” Ad Campaigns allows you to specify the type of ads you would like to support. You can decide to support ads created by specific people or for certain interests. 
  • “Managed” Ad Campaigns are the quickest and easiest way to get started with Ad Campaigns. With Managed Ad Campaigns, empowr does the work of finding advertising opportunities and then funds those ads for you with Ad Credits – taking out all of the work. Managed Ad campaigns are created automatically when citizens turn earnings on. 



Creating an Ad Campaign 

To begin creating an ad campaign, go to the left navigation bar and click "My Ad Campaigns" under “Advertise” 





Click "New Ad Campaign"





Give your portfolio a unique name to tell it apart from your other campaigns. Then determine how much funding you want to give this campaign and the return you would like to receive. 

Purchasing Ad Campaigns 





Ad Campaigns can be purchased from $1 to $100,000. To pay for Ad Campaigns citizens can use ad credits, 60 day matured earnings, PayPal and credit cards. 

Your Ad Campaign funds will be held in pending status in your empowr bank until utilized or until you pause your portfolio (up to 48 hours after pausing). Pending funds for Ad Campaigns are unavailable to be utilized for ads or other portfolios. 

Since there may be more money available to purchase advertising, than there are advertising opportunities. Not all money set for Ad Campaigns will always be utilized. 

Return Rates 

Your funds are utilized dependent on your minimum return requirement, and who or what you decide to fund. 

  • The suggested return rate ranges estimates the return requirements needed for your Ad Campaign to be utilized (this is based on            recent returns). 
  • The highest rate of return is the last rate of return the day ended at. 

To calculate the rate of return, simply divide the profit gained by the original amount used to purchase the ad campaign. For instance, if a citizen spent $100 on ads, and received $110 in earnings, the profit is $10. The return rate is 10% (10 ÷ 100). 

By checking the "I want the site to control this" box, more of your money may actually be utilized (which increases your overall earnings). The algorithms intelligently find opportunities for you for the best possible returns. 

Simple Ad Campaigns 

To create a "Simple" Ad Campaign, select "Simple", and click "Continue" 





To further increase your earnings, automatically restart your Ad Campaign using your earnings by selecting: “Once completed, automatically restart this Ad Campaign using the same settings” selected. 

Advanced Ad Campaigns 

Advanced Ad Campaigns allow you to choose which ads you fund based on a number of options: 

  • top knowledge workers in your home country or worldwide 
  • search knowledge workers by name 
  • choose popular knowledge areas or knowledge areas of interest 
  • choose by citizens who support specific charities 

Click the green "+" symbol to add selections to your Ad Campaign. 





Click the magnify glass symbol to see a list of people contributing to that interest.





By clicking the "Maximize the utilization of my Ad Campaign if my selections are too limiting" button you are asking the empowr algorithms to pick additional targets for you. 





After choosing your selections, you need to press the "Done" button to save your Ad Campaign. 

Managed Ad Campaigns

With Managed Ad Campaigns, empowr finds and funds ads with your ad credits to help maximize your earnings. Each day you'll notice in your empowr balance how many ad credits were utilized, and how much you earned as a result. 

There is no fee for this service other than the standard Ad Platform fee that applies for utilizing any Ad Credits. 

All citizens with their earnings “ON” have a Managed Ad Campaign created for them. 

If you wish to stop earning from Managed Ad Campaigns, you can turn your earnings OFF any time from your Account Settings page. 



Checking Your Ad Campaigns' Progress 

The “My Ad Campaigns” tab shows you the current status of your Ad Campaigns. 

  • You’ll see the Ad Campaign (the campaign name), Full Amount, Utilized, and the Status 
  • The "Full Amount" column represents the full amount of what you've spent 
  • If an Ad Campaign has not been utilized, the "Utilized' column shows $0 






Pausing, Restarting and Deleting Ad Campaigns 

Ad Campaign Status 

An Ad Campaign has a status of Active, Paused, Incomplete, Completed

  • Active Status: The ad is running and the funds will be fully utilized over time. 
  • Paused Status: Your money will not be utilized until the portfolio is no longer paused. You can pause an Ad Campaign at any time, but you must wait up to 48 hours for any funds not already utilized to be available to you
  • Incomplete Status: The information for your campaign is incomplete. Simply visit your setting to make it active and begin utilizing your funds for this campaign.
  • Completed Status: The funds for the campaign have been fully utilized. 





Restarting an Ad Campaign 

You can manually re-start your Ad Campaign once the system has finished utilizing your money or tell empowr to automatically re-start the campaign. The date when the Ad Campaign was restarted appears below the portfolio name. 

Deleting Campaigns 

You can delete an Ad Campaign any time. Click on the campaign name and then select "Delete"
